Television Shows/Movies I’m Excited About
Television feels like an all-or-nothing thing. Either we have too many things we’re interested in seeing, or there is zero that feels worth watching over reading a book. But right now, we’re at the start of a “too much we’re interested in” moment after a long dry spell.
We’re currently finishing Fleishman Is In Trouble, which I didn’t love at first, but which I’m glad I gave a chance because the later episodes are fantastic. And we’re watching Hello Tomorrow, which I love so much that my heart hurts.

What are you excited to see or watching?

I don’t watch a lot of TV… I only have Netflix as a streaming service, on top of a mid-tier cable package, and I should probably cancel since I really don’t use it enough to warrant the cost, which has more than doubled since I first became a subscriber. (eyeroll) I get irritated because sometimes I DO read or hear about something that sounds interesting, but it would mean subscribing to yet another streaming service, and really, how many do they expect us to buy? I know some people will subscribe, binge watch what they want and then unsub and sign up for another one — but that seems like a lot of work, especially when you’re not especially technologically inclined.
Anyway, the one series that has me thinking about whether it’s time to try Amazon Prime (lol) is Daisy Jones and the Six, starring Riley Keough (Elvis & Priscilla Presley’s granddaughter and Lisa Marie’s daughter) as Daisy. I really enjoyed the book, a lot more than I expected (as someone who was a teenager during the period the book is set in), and the clips I’ve seen look (and sound!) great.
So you’re saying I should watch more than the first episode of Fleishman Is In Trouble? I was kind of turned off by the ending of the episode. Of course, I am also not watching much TV lately. But I will, when Good Omens 2 comes out – I loved the first season, but I don’t know where they’ll go for a second.
I was going to tell you what I have been watching, but all I can come up with is that Andrew Garfield series based on a Jon Krakauer book. It’s about murder and Mormons. It’s pretty good.
Under the Banner of Heaven! That’s the name. I think.
