An Image Game
The game This Image Does Not Exist is super hard. Four is the most I’ve gotten correct in a row.
You’re being shown 30 images like this:
And then you have to click the robot if you think it was generated by a machine or the artist if you think it was generated by a human.
Which one did you guess for the one above?
(It was machine-generated)
My end score for that round was 17 out of 30. What’s your score?

That’s really fun! I also got 17/17. I wonder how they chose the human-produced art?
Surprise! I *also* got 17.
I wonder if this is a version of the Turing test. But also the human imagination is quite vast so in some ways I’m not that surprised I missed so many of those.
Honestly – I work adjacent to this field and mostly get depressed about these tools. Partially because of the expensive build (how many very expensive engineers/ML ppl/researchers were involved + how much compute). Partially because it leads to things like this: https://scitechdaily.com/ai-algorithm-predicts-future-crimes-one-week-in-advance-with-90-accuracy/ (which from what I’ve read/followed, isn’t particularly even well evaluated — https://twitter.com/emilymbender/status/1543599053748899840).
I got a 21/30 for the round I landed on. I have a hard time parsing the instructions, because if a human generated an image on a computer…is that machine- or human-generated? Sigh…
