Beorn’s First Vet Visit

The twins thought they heard Beorn give a pain wheek a few weeks ago, so I called the vet and asked if we could have an appointment to check for kidney stones. I may be a little neurotic after Linus.

The vet couldn’t in good faith give me an emergency appointment for one pain wheek, especially when Beorn was popcorning around during the phone call and begging for food, but he did fit him in for a normal appointment three weeks later.

It was also my first time back to the vet since we went to pick up Linus’s paw prints. I was fine until we pulled into a parking spot and waited for the vet to come out and retrieve Beorn. It would be his first time with a stranger; the first time with another person out of my sight because I had to wait outside.

I cried. He did fine. Nothing was wrong. He gave me side eye when he returned to the car.

“You really dragged me out here because of one wheek?”

All is well that ends well.

But it should have been Linus’s birthday this week.

I’m glad Beorn is OK … and it’s good that you took him, even if he DID give you the side eye! Reassurance that he’s OK is so important. And maybe even more so if you’re hurting a litte more this week. <3

I get this. Had the first vet visit since losing Jaxson and the only reason I wasn’t sobbing is because I went into the exam room with Daisy (she was freaked out enough as it was). But it was still hard and there were tears from those last memories in those same rooms.

Very glad Beorn is okay. May there be many more visits like that. Hugs in the meantime

Yay for Beorn being okay, what a relief. It would be so much easier if animals could tell us what’s hurting them, but they’re so good at hiding it for survival instinct. Sending lots of love for Linus, for the birthday that wasn’t, for the memories of paw print pickup. 💜
