#Microblog Monday 367: Twenty Years
Not sure what #MicroblogMondays is? Read the inaugural post which explains the idea and how you can participate too.
*******
Josh and I recently celebrated our twentieth anniversary. Everyone kept saying, “I can’t believe it has been that long since the wedding!” Well, it has. It has been twenty years.
We had an awesome wedding. We got married in a library, surrounded by books. Our friend married us. My mother sewed our chuppah, quilting together quotes about love our friends contributed on cloth squares. We had so many people we loved together in one room.
I’m not sure what the next twenty years will bring, but I’ll spend them with Josh, still dancing to Hedwig and the Angry Inch songs and taking pauses to take it all in.

#Microblog Monday 366: 80s Television

I found something that is the most fun ever: 80s TV. Click it. I’ll wait. Use the power button to start the television.
A word of advice, you have to uncheck the categories you don’t want to see. So if you only want to see music videos, uncheck everything except music. Use the channel buttons to move past anything you don’t want to see.
And if you didn’t grow up in the same time period, the site has you covered with 60s, 70s, 90s, and 00s television, too. Look on the right side bar.

#Microblog Monday 365: Eating Alone
Not sure what #MicroblogMondays is? Read the inaugural post which explains the idea and how you can participate too.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I like eating alone. Not all the time, but I find it so enjoyable to be by myself that it was my treat to go out once a week alone while I was in grad school and not feel any pressure to take people with me.
I don’t only like eating alone. I like talking about eating alone. And I like reading about eating alone. I am a sucker for an article about this: I always click.
And I do agree with this point: “There is a huge difference between occasional and habitual eating alone; between whether the solitude is enforced or chosen.” When I do it now, it’s my choice to eat alone. I like being in control of the meal; not trying to make anyone but myself happy. And maybe I’m taking back control over the experience of being solo, remembering times when eating alone was not in my control.

#Microblog Monday 364: Book Apps

Reading apps are having a moment. I like GoodReads, and I have no plans to give up GoodReads, but I am all for more book apps. The first one I downloaded was Booky Call. (Get it? Like booty call but for books.) It’s Tinder for stories. You can swipe left or right to find the next book to read.
The other one I signed up for (it’s not out yet) is Copper. I can’t tell how it’s different from GoodReads, but it promises to “transform the way we connect around books.” Which is a big promise, and I’m here for it. Plus, it looks pretty. I like pretty apps.

#Microblog Monday 363: Fake Meat Squeamishness
Not sure what #MicroblogMondays is? Read the inaugural post which explains the idea and how you can participate too.
*******
I’ve written before about my fake meat squeamishness. Most of these Beyond Meat or Impossible products feel too real. They make me feel panicked after I eat them, even though I rationally know that they’re not real meat. But they feel very real to me.
At the same time, I love Morningstar bacon. I love it with the intensity of a thousand suns. And I love Beyond Meat breakfast sausage links. And their bratwurst. We probably end up having them alone or in something every other week.
But this new Impossible pork? It really squicks me out. I know it makes no sense, and I’d probably be fine ordering it in a restaurant. But I haven’t been mentally able to bring the Impossible beef patties into the house. It’s something about seeing it uncooked that makes me feel woozy.
