1104th Friday Blog Roundup

The organization spree continues. We tackled the front hall and moved about 50 books from the table to bookshelves in another room. We went through a catch-all paper box and unearthed notebooks from grade school and a plastic recorder. (That’s where that went!) We tossed and tossed and tossed, and now I love the front hall.

We still need to do drawers, but we decided to focus on surfaces first. Once everything looks great, we’ll tackle spaces that can’t be seen.

Next stop: The living room.

Stop procrastinating. Go make your backups. Don’t have regrets.

Seriously. Stop what you’re doing for a moment. It will take you fifteen minutes, tops. But you will have peace of mind for days and days. It’s the gift to yourself that keeps on giving.

As always, add any new thoughts to the Friday Backup post and peruse new comments to find out about methods, plug-ins, and devices that help you quickly back up your data and accounts.

And now the blogs…

*******

But first, second, helpings of the posts that appeared in the open comment thread last week. To read the description before clicking over, please return to the open thread:

Okay, now my choices this week.

Scientist on the Roof has a list of the 5 things she’s doing to bring sanity to her day. I think it’s so important to know what makes you feel good (or even just settled) and do those things without compromise. If you don’t have a list of five things that you do daily or weekly to make yourself feel good, use this post as a reminder (and inspiration?) to find your own.

Lastly, No Kidding in NZ is writing about a book on navigating grief as she reads it. She touches on a point in the book: “Grief is probably the most common universal experience of all humans.” This truth is why we should pay attention when someone is talking about the experience. We can learn from one another and make each other’s paths easier to navigate.

The roundup to the Roundup: I love neat spaces. Your weekly backup nudge. And lots of great posts to read. So what did you find this week? Please use a permalink to the blog post (written between October 2 – 9) and not the blog’s main URL. Not understanding why I’m asking you what you found this week. Read the original open thread post here.
