1100th Friday Blog Roundup
We are back from the last college drop off. They may end up in graduate school, and I’m sure they’ll move to new spaces and need help, but they’re seniors. This was the last time navigating the dorms and filling their under the bed boxes with backup toiletries and eating a have-a-great-year dinner at a favourite restaurant.
It’s pretty bittersweet.
I remember being sad on and off my senior year. Happy that I felt so settled with my friends. Sad that we weren’t going to be living near each other anymore. Happy that I really knew how to navigate college life. Sad that once I felt on top of things, everything was going to change again. I really loved college, and I’m glad the twins got to have positive experiences, too.
But the end will be hard. Especially not knowing what comes next.
On another note, this really is the 1000th Friday Blog Roundup. See here for the explanation. Happy 1000th Roundupaversary.

Stop procrastinating. Go make your backups. Don’t have regrets.
Seriously. Stop what you’re doing for a moment. It will take you fifteen minutes, tops. But you will have peace of mind for days and days. It’s the gift to yourself that keeps on giving.
As always, add any new thoughts to the Friday Backup post and peruse new comments to find out about methods, plug-ins, and devices that help you quickly back up your data and accounts.
And now the blogs…

But first, second, helpings of the posts that appeared in the open comment thread last week. To read the description before clicking over, please return to the open thread:
- None… sniff.
Okay, now my choices this week.
Dear John vents about a very frustrating situation with her late husband’s sister, but I loved this thought island in the tumultuous word sea: “I was angrily composing things in my head, and you were on my shoulder whispering ‘don’t bother. Let karma take care of it. Nothing you say will make a difference.’ It’s been a bit since you were actively advising me on anything, so it was nice to feel you with me.” I am so sorry that Dear John had to read his sister’s words and have them in her head.
Lastly, Slaying, Blogging, Whatever… has a tiny post (just 24 words) that intrigued me so much that I read those 24 words maybe 24 times.
The roundup to the Roundup: Happy 1000 Roundups. Your weekly backup nudge. And lots of great posts to read. So what did you find this week? Please use a permalink to the blog post (written between September 4 – 11) and not the blog’s main URL. Not understanding why I’m asking you what you found this week.
