3 Out of 10 Correct

Clearly, AI is on my mind, so I clicked on a New York Times quiz (gift link) to see how well a person could identify AI-created video content.

I was terrible at this. The 3 I got correct, I got correct by guessing. And that guessing was based on how many AI or non-AI options came before it — as in, if there were just two AI-created videos in a row, surely this one must be non-AI… right?

I am curious to hear if you do better with this. I find the whole thing worrisome more than exciting.

5 out of 10 because the clips were too short (and one because I was dumb). I think a few seconds is not enough time to process whether something is real or fake. But I do think there should be a disclaimer included in all AI generated content.

50% and I guessed on a lot of them. I wish we had ethical and legal requirements to signal to viewers and readers that something was totally or partially created using AI. This seems like a no-brainer way to use the technology responsibly. As usual, technology moves faster than laws and ethics 🙁

4. Yep, not at all excited and actually quite concerned about AI. It’s known to generate fake legal citations and fake scientific citations.

I got 6 of 10, but it was much harder than I anticipated. I didn’t realize AI videos had gotten so good on such simple prompts!!! Yikes!

I think I was 6 out of 10 but it was pure luck, because I guessed completely, almost never having any clue! lol
