#Microblog Monday 453: The Best of Technology

Not sure what #MicroblogMondays is? Read the inaugural post which explains the idea and how you can participate too.

I saw this on Facebook, and it was such a good idea — like the fish doorbell — that I had to put it here, too. I took a screenshot in case you don’t have a Facebook account and can’t see the post.

Isn’t that such an intelligent use of technology? It collects data by encouraging what people are already doing (taking a picture) but making it do double-duty as both capturing the scenery and charting change.

So smart.

Are you also doing #MicroblogMondays? Add your link below. The list will be open until Tuesday morning. Link to the post itself, not your blog URL. (Don’t know what that means? Please read the three rules on this post to understand the difference between a permalink to a post and a blog’s main URL.) Only personal blogs can be added to the list. I will remove any posts connected to businesses or sponsored posts.

I thought this must be in Ontario because the names “Severn” and “Trent” are local… but when I looked it up (and threw in “Derwent valley”) it became clear this was in the UK. (I guess “moors” should have been a giveaway too, right? lol) What a great idea! (As usual, the Brits are miles ahead of us…!)

Such a cool idea! A personal project for next year is to photograph the same place every day for a year. It’s been done beautifully before, but not in my spaces.

That is so cool! What a neat way to use technology for good. Also I just love the word “moors.”

I’m not an unpaid intern!

Nah, this is a good way to keep track of things without having to pay someone to go out every day and record things.
