#Microblog Monday 432: Most Visited Website

Not sure what #MicroblogMondays is? Read the inaugural post which explains the idea and how you can participate too.

*******

While searching for a statistic on websites, I came across this image that shows the most visited website in any country. It’s Amazon in the United States. Reddit for Canada. The BBC in the United Kingdom.

What does that say about us as a country that our most visited site is a shopping site? (Uh… capitalism?) Or Canada that it’s a message board? Or the United Kingdom that it’s a news site?

Are you also doing #MicroblogMondays? Add your link below. The list will be open until Tuesday morning. Link to the post itself, not your blog URL. (Don’t know what that means? Please read the three rules on this post to understand the difference between a permalink to a post and a blog’s main URL.) Only personal blogs can be added to the list. I will remove any posts connected to businesses or sponsored posts.

wow I knew Wikipedia was popular but I had no idea how popular it is in so many countries. It’s nice that people are interested in learning though. It does feel a bit disappointing that Amazon is the number one in the United States, although I’m not surprised and I’d say amazon is one of the most used sites in many countries.

Reddit in NZ? I’ve hardly ever visited Reddit! Clearly, I am out of touch. lol

Ooof, amazon. That makes me feel sad. Not surprising, but sad.

I’m rarely on Reddit either — I only go there if it pops up in a Google search for something I’m looking up. Interesting.

I’m doing my part to skip Amazon and inflate Reddit numbers here in the US!
