#Microblog Monday 402: Oldest Search

Not sure what #MicroblogMondays is? Read the inaugural post which explains the idea and how you can participate too.

*******

Usually when you do a Google search (or use any search engine), the results show the best fit. Oldest search engine tells you the first time a term was used on the Internet and then moves forward in time to the present. Super helpful when you’re trying to find the first time something was used.

I searched for “Stirrup Queens,” and clearly, I’m the first hit. But then moving forward in time, I found all sorts of neat things I missed. Like the Washington Post once mentioned a post in an article. Or there was a health journal, a post on Alpha Mom, and a “creepy rocking horse store.” (Not linking to that last one because it looked… creepy.)

A fun tool to play with.

Are you also doing #MicroblogMondays? Add your link below. The list will be open until Tuesday morning. Link to the post itself, not your blog URL. (Don’t know what that means? Please read the three rules on this post to understand the difference between a permalink to a post and a blog’s main URL.) Only personal blogs can be added to the list. I will remove any posts that are connected to businesses or are sponsored post.

What is that background? Is it the original Google? Is it the Gateway computer background? IT IS SO STINKING FAMILIAR! That is a fun rabbit hole. Just for kicks I searched “My Path to Mommyhood” and the first related return is a post I wrote about smudging our old house and it has a picture of me holding what appears to be a big doobie. Which is kind of hilarious. A creepy rocking horse store? Yipes! Fun stuff.

Oooh, what a cool tool! Pamela gave me my first mentions, and then you did on Creme de la Creme.
