#Microblog Monday 326: Hitting the Book Trail

Not sure what #MicroblogMondays is? Read the inaugural post which explains the idea and how you can participate too.

*******

If you want a fun distraction this week, hit the book trail. It’s a site where you can type in a destination and find books set in that place. Can’t get to the Faroe Islands? You can read two books set there. Interested in finding books where characters touch down in Thailand? There are pages of results.

I thought it would be fun to jump from continent to continent over winter break.

Where do you want to go?

Are you also doing #MicroblogMondays? Add your link below. The list will be open until Tuesday morning. Link to the post itself, not your blog URL. (Don’t know what that means? Please read the three rules on this post to understand the difference between a permalink to a post and a blog’s main URL.) Only personal blogs can be added to the list. I will remove any posts that are connected to businesses or are sponsored post.

What a great idea! Though out of curiosity, I looked at books from NZ and had to go to page 12 to find any vaguely well known books. First page was full of Tolkien and middle earth references! Still, could be lots of fun. Though most of the books I read are written and set elsewhere.

I’ve recently read two books by author Dervla McTiernan set in Galway, Ireland, and enjoyed them. Going to check out this website and see if I find anywhere else that strikes my fancy. 🙂

After 8 straight months spent mostly at home, just about anywhere sounds good right now…! 😉

Oh, what a terrific resource! Bookmarking it for when my TBR stack isn’t already through the roof.

I am going to check that out! Love the idea of traveling through books. Also, I was OBSESSED with the Faroe Islands a year or two ago. We thought about going there before we landed on Scotland, and then the pandemic ruined that. Did you know there are more sheep than people in the Faroe Islands? Now I have to look up those two books!
