#Microblog Monday 292: Don’t Be That Person on April Fool’s Day

Not sure what #MicroblogMondays is? Read the inaugural post which explains the idea and how you can participate too.

*******

Every year, I hope beyond hope that people will not post phony pregnancy announcements for April Fool’s Day, and every year, I am disappointed by humanity.

But this year, really, please, skip April Fool’s Day. Not just pregnancy posts—skip COVID-19 posts. Skip posting anything that may be misconstrued. When in doubt, don’t post.

I have to spend time on the Internet on Wednesday due to my job or I’d stay offline. So please, humanity, don’t let me down this year.

*******

Are you also doing #MicroblogMondays? Add your link below. The list will be open until Tuesday morning. Link to the post itself, not your blog URL. (Don’t know what that means? Please read the three rules on this post to understand the difference between a permalink to a post and a blog’s main URL.) Only personal blogs can be added to the list. I will remove any posts that are connected to businesses or are sponsored post.

I’ve never been a fan of pranks or practical jokes, so never enjoyed that part of April Fools, unless something was obviously fake. This year, in particular, jokes would be in bad taste.

Oh goodness YES.

Ugh, yes. I’ve really never loved April Fool’s jokes/pranks, but this year, with so many people’s nerves stretched to the breaking point, it would be great if there weren’t things that make those feelings worse.

Good heavens, yes, now more than ever. I’m already tired of all the jokes about all the babies that are going to be born in December because of everyone staying at home. :p

Oh man, someone I know on facebook already started with the April Fools nonsense, and made people think they’d forgotten her birthday. Which I guess is fairly innocuous, but seeing as it’s MARCH 30th I am a little worried about what stir-crazy minds will cook up for the actual day. (Same person did a pregnancy announcement at 51 a few years ago, ugh.) Oh man, and Covid 19 “jokes,” I didn’t even think of that, because, you know, THAT’S HORRIFIC. I hope humanity is a little better this year, too.

Agreed. In fact, I’ll avoid social media–with the exception of blog posting– on your behalf.
