#Microblog Monday 243: Impossible Burger

Not sure what #MicroblogMondays is? Read the inaugural post which explains the idea and how you can participate too.

*******

Burger King is testing the Impossible Burger in the St. Louis area, and if it performs  well, they’ll send it out to all 7,200 stores. I am equal parts optimistically excited (the reviews of the burger have been great) and pessimistically realistic (why get my hopes up before it happens). There are vegetarian options out there when we’re on the road, but this would be a game-changer for us.

I really like veggie burgers.

I mean, I also like salads, but sometimes you just want to blend with the crowd.

What are you looking forward to right now?

Are you also doing #MicroblogMondays? Add your link below. The list will be open until Tuesday morning. Link to the post itself, not your blog URL. (Don’t know what that means? Please read the three rules on this post to understand the difference between a permalink to a post and a blog’s main URL.) Only personal blogs can be added to the list. I will remove any posts that are connected to businesses or are sponsored post.

This is interesting! In India at Mc Donald’s or Burger King, we do get vegetarian options. A lot of them along with the meat options. So I can imagine your excitement. Let me know what happens 🙂
I am going home this Friday. It will be a short trip but I am looking forward to it. Papa is getting retired and I am going to be at home to celebrate his 41 years of teaching career.

More inclusivity is always good. I thought you weren’t interested in the Impossible Burger, though? Maybe I’m remembering wrong. Or obviously you can change your mind. 😉

I enjoy veggie burgers a lot as well. Here’s hoping to see veggie burgers everywhere!

I hope you find it really good 🙂

What am I looking forward to? Summer break and no more grading!

A veggie burger option at a fast food restaurant would be great!

This week? I’m looking forward to finally selecting the person who will replace me in my current position. Maybe then I can get into a decent routine!

I really want to try it! I love real burgers but they are terrible for the environment- I would love an alternative!

The meat alternative market is gaining a ton of momentum, moving into new spaces (think vegan dog food), but given our culture’s current practices with meat production, this change is one I fully support.

Looking forward to see the outcome of this trial.

I’ve never tried a veggie burger, but my BIL, who is about as carnivore as they come, tried the new one from A&W, and he thought it wasn’t bad. That’s high praise from him, lol. 😉

I am looking forward to getting out my capris & sandals soon! We’re not quite there yet, but I actually wore a short-sleeved T-shirt and denim jacket this weekend. Progress!!

BK has had a veggie burger for a while and BK is our go to place if we’re on the road and desperate and not in an area with many options for vegans. It’s kind of hard to find on the store menu though (if at all?) so if people don’t already know about it they’re unlikely to ask for it.

I’m looking forward to seeing Hamilton in SF this summer. I was too slammed at work to go last time it was in SF. This time I scored nosebleed seats (whooo!) after being in the online waiting room for most of a day.

Oh, that would be so exciting for you and your fellow vegetarians! It would be nice if there were more options for you, especially as more people are taking up plant-based eating for the planet’s health as well as their own. I am looking forward to being able to leave the house to take a walk, or garden — I am feeling super cooped up with this whole recovery thing!

Cool! I’m looking forward to try it. I’m not crazy about the current BK veggie, but it will do in a pinch. We live in a pretty vegetarian friendly area, so we rarely go for fast food, but it would be nice to have that option on one of our road trips. What am I looking forward to? Wednesday when classes end!

I hope it works for you. Seems so silly that they haven’t provided vege options for you before. I love burgers but not necessarily the meat (it’s the bread, the salad, the sauces and pickles and melted cheese that draw me), so it’s an option for me too in the future.

And I’m looking forward to a big trip – we leave in about three weeks. Woohoo! (Though I have a LOT of things to do before then. Sigh.)

Well, that explains all the advertising I’ve been seeing lately. My husband asked if I was going to try one, and I said “I don’t even like their regular burgers – why would I try that?” I would suggest that I could try one for you…but how would that help? I like cheeseburgers and don’t like vegetables. Telling you that something tastes pretty much like a regular hamburger would not be a plus for you, I’m thinking.

Oh well, good luck in your quest for decent food on the road!
