Wonder Pig

Truman is walking again.  He’s not only walking again; he’s getting up on his hind legs to beg for cookies, skipping around happily, and (of course) fighting his arch nemesis, rake*.

A few weeks ago, we looked over at Truman and Josh said, “Is he on his feet?”  Yes, he was standing on his feet, though he stumbled when he tried to take a step forward.  A few days after that, he started moving a few inches at a time.  Then he started walking slowly and wheeking again.  Then he started running and jumping.  And finally, he started getting up on his hind legs to beg for cookies.

Why did he suddenly start walking again?  We have zero clue.  We have no idea why he stopped walking, and we have no idea why he started walking.  Did the medications take weeks to work?  Was it the new vitamin C tablet he started taking each morning?  Was the whole thing a ruse to get more cuddles?

All I know is that I’m glad I have my pig back.

* Rake is a blue, plastic sand toy that he loves to pounce on and bite.  He’ll creep up on rake and then take a flying leap so he can knock it a few inches, but then run away terrified when rake moves.  Rake is his sworn enemy, second only to water bottle whom he hates with all his heart.

Holy crap Mel! You sure have some special Guinea pig there, Intell you what. Did you call your vet to let her know? I sure would. He truly is a wonder pig, and I am SO very glad that he has recovered. My belief is that you didn’t give up on him, so he didn’t give up on you.❤️❤️❤️

Oh, TRUMAN! That’s amazing! I’m so glad that he’s back on his feet, and snuffling about. And oh, Rake…that cracks me up. I’m so glad that it seems his ordeal is coming to an end. What a special, special little furry pig!

I started crying when he hopped up on his back legs. Mel, this is amazing!!! I don’t know either what it was, but I do know that healing is a hidden process where it seems like nothing is happening when it actually is. And then one day you see the effects.

Regardless, it’s clear the power of wanting to live. It’s not 100% for curing, but it does lead to some pretty amazing things. Truman has demonstrated that.

Keep up the good work Truman and Mel!

Vitamins and drugs have their thing called half-life. It takes time for the dosages to build up to working levels in the body. Then, the chemicals are eliminated by the kidneys, down to levels that are not making any effects in the body. Continue with the vitamin and medication to maintain premium level of chemicals.

Every body mass responds differently so its difficult to make accurate predictions based on passing references to other examples.
