Gaming, Onward!

Thank you to everyone who weighed in with stories or sympathy about losing my Saturday morning routine.  It felt really weird to wake up yesterday and… not play.

But that’s okay because I am replacing the game with a bunch of games.  Instead of putting all of my eggs in a one-game basket, I’m spreading out my gaming energy in a few different places while I drink my coffee.

First and foremost, I’m playing Loot and Legends.  I love Loot and Legends.  I am particularly attached to my wizard, Bathilda.  Sometimes the kids watch me play, and the ChickieNob will shriek, “protect Bathilda!” when her hit points drop.

In the same vein, when Land Fit for Heroes launches in a few days, I’m checking out that gamebook because it has a multi-player mode.  I don’t totally get how multiple people will share a game, but I’m all for finding out.

Next, I am working my way through the IF Comp games.  I plan to vote this year, so I want to play as many games as possible before the November 15th deadline.  I’m also playing Scroll Thief.  I have a huge backlog of interactive fiction to get through.

I am playing the Sherlock game (though I wish I could reset it because I botched the first round), Solitaire, and all of the old Activision and Atari games in the app.

So I have stuff to play.  It’s different, but it’s good.

What games are you playing these days, online or off?

Side note: tomorrow is #MicroblogMonday.  Get writing!

I play Bejeweled Blitz whenever I have a few free minutes, and I generally have a few games of Words with Friends in progress. Those are the only games I play these days.

I play a bunch of Facebook games and the odd hidden object game. On my phone, I play Hay Day, 1010, and Word Brain. I did download all those IF Comp games but haven’t played them yet.

I used to play Double Pyramid Free Solitare obsessively, but these days I play 1010. (Thanks for introducing me, Mel!).

Happy to learn that your Saturday mornings are starting to take on a new, enjoyable shape. ?

I’ve never been much of a computer games player… although I like Tetris, and will go through occasional binges of Spider Solitaire. 😉 I was finding the two suits of cards version too easy, so I increased the difficulty to four suits. Since then, I have played 1,124 games and won exactly ONE. :p Oh well…!

I first discovered Tetris back in 1992 (!), and I played it when we were on holiday in Club Med. I’d lay by the pool and play it in between swimming and napping. I always liked playing it on an airline, because it took my mind off the pain in my knees! (Economy class, how I hate you!)

I blame you, Mel, for my more recent addictions. You introduced me to Candy Crush (and I graduated myself to Candy Crush Soda) and 2048 (and now I play a triangular version) and 1010. I still play them all from time to time. Sometimes obsessively, until my iPad needs charging, sometimes not for days or weeks.

I don’t know any of the games you’ve mentioned, and I’m not going to search them out. I have learnt my lesson!

You got me sucked into Candy Crush and it took forever to get that monkey off my back. I still play it but without the fervour and misery. Also Bubble Witch Saga. Lexulous. And I’m back to hidden object games.

Game of War is my current hard core gaming app. I’m still sucked in even though I swore I wouldn’t play as much. It’s a tough monkey to get off your back.
I’m looking for new games. I might check out Loot and Legends.. seems interesting.

Carcassonne is the only game for me!
