Moving Ingredients Over in Level 315 of Candy Crush

My pre-Christmas gift to you is a copy of the post-it note I made myself to get through level 315 of Candy Crush.  Let me start by saying that this level frustrated me almost as much as the timed levels.  It involves sliding over two ingredients at least two spaces.  So four lateral moves in total.

You likely do lateral moves all the time without thinking about it.  But once you’re forced to slide over those hazelnuts, you realize just how difficult it is to line up the candies just so vs. have it happen by accident.

Candy Crush Level 315

See, the hazelnut in the center is fine.  The one on the left and the one on the right will hit a ledge if they drop straight down.  So they need to move two over toward the center in order to be placed over an opening.

So how do you do that?

You look for (or create) one of these eight patterns:

Candy Crush Ingredients Move

The four on the left correspond with the hazelnut on the left.  The four on the right correspond with the hazelnut on the right.  The O is the hazelnut, and the X are three candies of the same colour.

In other words, if you want to move the left one over (toward the center, which means, toward the right), you’re looking for two blues above the hazelnut and a blue to the right.  Then you’d slide that hazelnut to the right, and the three blues align and disappear.  One move complete.

My advice is to play on a device so you can keep restarting without losing a life.  Look for a board that opens with two of the same colour below one of the hazelnuts, and either a third of the same colour to the right of the nut (if you’re trying to move the one on the left) or the left of the nut (if you’re trying to move the one on the right).  That way, your first move takes care of one of your four lateral moves.  Then it’s just three more to go.

Also make sure you use the coconut wheel early on so the nut in the middle doesn’t land atop it.  Once that happens, you can only use it left or right to take out one candy.

This moving ingredients technique comes up a few times in Candy Crush, but this is the first board where it is crucial; impossible to play without doing lateral moves.

So if you need a break from Christmas stuff and you’re feeling inclined to crouch in a darkened room somewhere playing Candy Crush while other people string their lights, this is my gift to you.  How to move ingredients to get past those evil boards.

Currently: I’m on Level 350, and I’m happy to go backwards and explain how I did any board before that. Sometimes it was stupid luck but other times, there was actual thought involved (here are the other advice posts I’ve written). Let me know the level you’re struggling with.

The fact that you can do this, write about each level, amazes me. I have no idea how I pass a level.

I hate 350 soooo much.

I’m ready to give up at 191, so I have no idea how you managed to make it as far as you have! And how you can remember how you actually made them work. I’ve gotten better at the strategy, but I think I win more through blind luck still.

I’ve been calling those apples. They’re nuts? I am also amazed (again) a your thought process and recollection of the boards. I couldn’t have told you what 315 looked like. Once I looked at the picture I remembered the board and having to plan ahead to do the lateral moves and it was a pain!

I’m on 354 now. I was stuck on 350 for awhile. Maybe a week. I gave in and paid for the “continue on” boosters to get through it. A few of them. It’s only the second time I’ve done that and I wasn’t happy about it. But I’ve heard friends that have been stuck there for months or gave up the game entirely on that board. So when I had a turn that was really close to clearing it, I gave in. I didn’t want to be stuck there forever. Good luck with 350! I’m hoping you beat it and pass me so I can take advantage of your wisdom. 😉

You made it to 350!!

I’m sad to say, I’m still there. Haven’t moved a level in nearly a month now. If you beat it before me, I will definitely be asking for a tutorial on it. It looks like it shouldn’t be THAT hard, but there is just some secret to it that I’m missing.

Tried it a million times, then got it in one with your strategy. Thanks!

What do you mean by playing on a device so I can restart without losing a life? When I play on my iPad, I reached the end at level 305.

Copied out your diagrams and won first time. Just took a little more thought and strategy – thankyou 🙂

This will be the level I quit Candy Crush on. Surely I have better sense than to waste valuable time on such stupidity!

18 Groovy { 03.11.14 at 3:45 pm }

This level seemed impossible, until I found your blog — I completed it immediately! I’m celebrating even though it might have been better for me to quit this addictive game in defeat. But that would be so … rational . Thanks for the tips!

Thanks a ton! worked the 1st time I tried your tip!

I finally passed this level with your tips and diagram. Thanks!!

23 sandra { 04.30.14 at 11:23 am }

I’m still having trouble moving the hazelnut towards the center. The candies are not falling in the right place for me to move them.

24 BRENDA { 05.16.14 at 10:57 am }

My problem is not only being able to get past this MISERABLE level 315, but not having lives stored…..I get extra lives, I click on them, thinking that they are being stored SOMEWHERE in inventory…..My husband has an I-pad (mine is a MacBook Pro), and his tells him how many lives he has got stored up…….My little envelope disappears and it is NO WHERE to be found when I need to grab extra energy……Not only is this level extremely frustrating, then NOT getting the extra lives that have been sent to you is even worse…..HELP

Stuck on level 315 for the longest time. I knew what I had to do to get through it but it was sheer luck that did the trick! I focused on moving the nuts toward the middle game after game but without luck you really don’t stand a chance lining up three like colors. It’s not even in the top 10 hardest levels, it just felt like it. Can’t wait for level 350 which is one of the hardest to get through. Good luck to all my fellow Candy Crushers out there!

Got through 315 first try after reading your hints…had been on it for a week !! Thank you !!

27 John o { 12.03.14 at 2:06 pm }

My problem with level 315 isn’t that it’s challenging – it’s just that it’s not fun! I keep trying over and over and over and it’s just a boring level. I understood the concept since the beginning but I just keep getting to one ingredient left and I just can’t get it to move over in time. Ugh – I wish you could somehow earn free passes to use on boring levels like this. Bummer

MEL, u r a genius!!

29 Kristi jacobs { 07.14.15 at 9:32 pm }

Thank you! I used your notes and passed it in two tries!!!!

30 marianne { 11.24.15 at 8:17 am }

I generally move along through levels pretty quickly but was stuck on this one forever, to the point I was hardly playing anymore. Three trys after reading your hints and I passed with three stars. Thanks!!! Diagrams helped me know what to look for as well as your advice to restart until I got it. Thank you!

31 chantal s { 12.07.15 at 5:30 pm }

thought I would never get past this level, but this article helped loads. thanks!

32 Sonja Carilho { 03.20.16 at 6:49 am }

Thank you. I am going to try again with your instructions.

33 Miranda { 08.24.16 at 11:57 am }

Genius! This formula worked for me!

34 Pandypooch { 12.05.16 at 10:07 am }

Brenda, just click the cross in the right hand corner, then it will save your lives in the envelope, but just while you’re there.
I only just worked this out.
CC should explicitly tell you this, not just leave it for you to eventually work it out.
I have lost countless lives this way
And thankyou so much dear friend for the yips, gonna give it a whirl, as soon as I’ve written them down!!!
