Advice to Pass Along: Level 275 of Candy Crush

It hit my three email threshold: I was asked multiple times how I solved level 275 of Candy Crush. So here is the answer. It is What it Is, avert your eyes. Or run screaming. Whatever you need to do because the world wants to know how I beat the chocolate and the bombs and emerged triumphant from level 275. Or… at least a few people do.

Candy Crush Level 275

This level figuratively asks the player a thought-provoking what if: if you were to, let’s say, to have your hard drive crash, would you rather have it happen before you’ve written your Great American Novel, or after you’ve written 300 of the best pages that you’ve ever written?  If you’re someone who doesn’t care if you’ve just done a ton of work for nothing, play this board however you wish.  On the other hand, if it would be more maddening to not only lose your hard drive but lose all of your hard work, then follow my advice.

You need to work the top half of the board before you work the bottom.

So look at those two pieces of chocolate in the top two corners of the board.  They are holding back 3-move bombs.  You do not want these bombs to drop; ever.  So don’t break that chocolate.  There is no jelly beneath, so you’ll never have to touch it.

Every other square on this board has jelly.

What you want to do is get rid of those two squares next to the chocolate machines first.  In the picture above, there are green candies in the two squares.  Do NOT worry about the two squares next to that chocolate — currently the red candy and the orange candy.  Those will likely get wiped out by cascading candy at some point or you will get them with a vertical stripe.  Either way, there are ways for that jelly to pop that will not break the chocolate and release the bombs.

You want to clear those green candies first because if you mess up and the bombs drop, you only wasted two seconds of your time.  If you wait until the end and try to clear them and those bombs drop, you just erased your hard work.  So do them first and get them out of the way.

Next, clear the top half as best you can while holding the chocolate at bay.  At some point near the beginning of your game, open those fish at the bottom and release them so they eat a little jelly too. You want to do this early-ish because you have no control where those fish go.  And they could end up inadvertently releasing the bombs too.  Even better is if you can combine a striped candy (and colour) with a fish.  Again, no control, but it can clear a lot of jelly.

This is a level where vertical stripes (and if we’re talking about beneath the chocolate machines, horizontal stripes) go far.

So that’s it.  That’s how you beat level 275.

Currently: I’m on Level 288, and I’m happy to go backwards and explain how I did any board before that. Sometimes it was stupid luck but other times, there was actual thought involved (here are the other advice posts I’ve written). Let me know the level you’re struggling with.

Level 278? Maybe you and I will be roommates at a Candy Crush addiction clinic!

I’ve alerted the authorities (which authorities for this malady, I’m not quite sure). I am thankful, though, for one less post in my reader to read. #iwillnotcometotheCCdarkside

I’ll have to keep this in mind.. I’m stuck on 269…still!!

Thanks so much. After using your techniques, I passed this level after 5 more tries. I love your site because you give written tips instead of videos. Thanks again.

ANOTHER TIP!!! If you DO break those chocolates, don’t try to get the two jellies next to it to match the bomb colour because another bomb will drop and you’ll suffer until you die. INSTEAD, try to get the second and third jellies to match and slide the bomb candy across to join them. This will break the cycle of bombs falling.

BTW, Lollipop, You write soooo well. Very funny and great advice, too.

Thank you for the advice on this level. I was able to get through this level by it and through sheer luck. I happened to get 2 sprinkled candies together which cleared the rest of the board except 3 jellies and was able to get those in 2 moves, so the bombs didn’t explode.

One other suggestion. This level gives fifty moves and there are no difficult jellies in individual recesses or needing massive numbers of hits. The real problem is not running out of moves but releasing the recurring bombs at the top. It is so tempting to hit a stripe against a big speckled one or against a fish, but I’d avoid that until the very end because the results are so unpredictable and increase the likelihood of releasing those bombs. This level really requires you to do the opposite of everything you’re used to doing.

Thank you for the tips. I’m so frustrated at this level.

I did it! The secret is to not try to panic and save yourself if you inadvertently uncover a bomb. What you must do if you uncover a time bomb is to make sure that you do not break any chocolate in the next three moves. If you don’t break chocolate then one grows, and chocolate grew over the bomb twice and saved me. If you uncover a bomb, don’t break chocolate!

This is one of the BEST sites for tips on this game. Excellent.

I tried 12 times, and I did it. No problem! Just have to know what to do..duh.. of course.. Just try to keep te 2 bombs covered in chocolate.. try to clear the bottom of the board, and leave the fishes until you’re almost done. I did it this way, and the fishes hit exactly the 2 squares that were still covered… one was next to the bomb.. it really wasn’t that hard. Good luck!!

Did you complete 288? I am stuck there!

20 Jodi { 12.11.13 at 3:41 am }

I’ve been stuck on level 275 for days. I was extremely frustrated to put it lightly. I read your tips & first time I tried it I passed it! Thank you thank you…. Hooray!!! 🙂

Hi,
Two Chocolates together after clearing all the jelly in the center and the middle side do the work. just got lucky.

22 Nancy { 12.19.13 at 8:43 am }

Great tips! I passed level 275 on my next try using your advice. Thanks!

23 Karen { 12.29.13 at 6:21 am }

I want to thank you so much for your awesome hint..It took me two more tries, then I beat the level. I was stuck on this level for about a month…Thank you again…Here’s hoping you have a great New Years!!! ~Peace~

ONE TRY after reading your suggestions!!!! Amazing! Thank you!!!

25 Lavasusan { 01.02.14 at 1:46 am }

Thank you so much for the advice. I thought this was a crooked level, but after reading your advice, I did it in only two more tries.

26 Debbie { 01.10.14 at 7:00 pm }

It’s been a two week challenge with this level. So, her I go….. Thanks so much for the tips. :-))

27 Helena { 01.13.14 at 12:03 pm }

You can use the booster red hand to switch the bomb with a colour candy. Of course than you have to crush the bomb, anyway, it helped me, although I’m still stucked.

I am at my witts end with this level 275 there isn’t a clue I haven’t used or tried the best I have got is one jelly I am actually getting more fun reading all the comments on this level than playing it !! I just can’t see the use of making a level so difficult that you can’t get to see a result. I guess they just don’t want you to go any further as this one level has me almost defeated.

29 Nancy { 01.19.14 at 11:50 am }

Thank you!! I agree, I like the written tips NOT the videos! I am bookmarking this and depending on you for my sanity!!

30 Melissa W. { 01.30.14 at 2:40 pm }

Thank you for the tips! This was the level I was seriously thinking was going to make me give up Candy Crush…but I was plotting to hunt down the person responsible for it (and those stupid, evil, 3 move bombs) and maim them. After reading your tips I beat it the very next time I played it. Carefully keeping those bomb dropping corners covered is absolutely key. And I think probably a little luck helps, too!

31 Tony { 02.02.14 at 1:02 pm }

I too completed this level first time after reading your advise, thank you kindly Mel.

32 Ryan { 02.13.14 at 7:27 am }

The key is playing this on a computer and NOT a phone or tablet. The bombs, when played on a computer through Facebook, have 8 moves, not 3.

33 Dave t { 02.14.14 at 11:00 pm }

Best advice. Thanks! Got through about my 10th try after reading this.
That after being stuck here probably 100+ tries!

Other cheats talk about leaving those upper corners until the end, but you say you never have to touch them since there’s no gel under them. Very helpful.

One other thing. I did save a couple of free hammers I picked up along the way and just hammered the last 2 spots next to the corners to win!!

Thanks again!!

34 JT { 02.17.14 at 9:14 pm }

Thanks for the advice! It took several tries but it finally worked 🙂

35 Kyrie { 02.23.14 at 6:06 am }

Thanks! I’m joining the ranks of those who listened to your advice and finally crushed this level. I almost gave up! It seemed so simple once I knew what to do. Thanks again!

I started looking for tips on level 275 almost as soon as I started playing it (yesterday) because I figured it was going to be one of those really difficult levels that would take forever. I am playing on an un-updated mobile iphone, so the biggest difficulty of this game for me was not exposing the two upper corner bombs. Siince my device isn’t updated, I was only getting 3 tries before the bomb exploded which meant that almost as soon as the bomb was exposed

Thanks so much. I passed this level first try after I read your tips.

38 Seedeater56 { 05.08.14 at 7:49 am }

So, I’ve finished level 290 and am on mystery quest number 3. And guess what that is: yup, it’s level 275 again. Wheeee….

39 Beverly { 06.01.14 at 11:52 am }

Thanks for the excellent tips. Just a few tries after applying them, I was able to complete the level. The main thing to do to get through this level is to keep the bombs covered.
