The 77 Days Answer Comes on Monday (Uh… Tuesday)

I just learned about the 77 Days videos, which hint that something is going to happen on Monday.  It reminds me of when I was in elementary school, and the Book of Nostradamus had predicted something to happen on a certain day.  I wanted to stay home, certain that it meant the end of the world, but my parents packed me off to elementary school, promising to run and fetch me if the world ended.  I spent all of recess staring at the sky.  Nothing ever happened.

But viral Internet projects are very different from a dusty book of prophecies, hundreds of years old.  This creepy site has only been hinting about this date for 77 days.

September 24th.

As in this Monday. [Ha – I got the date wrong.  Thank you, Stacie.  The 24th is on Tuesday. So I get one extra day to feel uneasy!]

The site creepily states (did I mention this is creepy?  And unsettling?  And… creepy?)

Well, here you are. Somehow, you stumbled on the mystery of Pronunciation Book and its sudden, unsettling countdown to… something… on September 24th — 77 days from July 9th, 2013 (How To Pronounce 77).

You might’ve thought to yourself, “Why, this looks like fun!” And then you looked closer. Deeper. Now you do not know what to think.

Worry not, intrepid internaut, for help is at hand.

You are one of us now.

Creepier still (creepy!) is the spectrogram that forms from the silences in the pronunciation videos.  It’s a man with the word “Tomorrow” written over his eyes.  The image is in that link.

Theories abound about the meaning, from the freaky to the terrifying to the commercial.  It could be a viral campaign for a movie or it could be the release of a news story.

But whatever it is, it’s unsettling.  And I don’t like feeling unsettled.

Your thoughts?

Isn’t Monday the 23rd? Never heard of all of this.

I sure do hope it isn’t the end, though. It’s my moms birthday that day and I got her a pretty amazing gift. I think it’s only fair she gets to enjoy it!

Please don’t let the world be ending on Tuesday. Our 10th anniversary is on Thursday and I’d like to celebrate that. Granted, the world ending WOULD get me out of a few tests but…no. 🙂

Yikes. I dare not click on the links. I am really invested in my future and yours and everyone else’s. not fair.

Well, it would really stink if that kept the Pirates from finally making the playoffs — they’ve been waiting long enough. Hopefully, the marketers running that website will spare the world at least through the Division Series.

Is this like the world ending on Dec 31, 1999? Or Dec 23, 2012? Or is this some terrorist plot they are telling us about in advance?

If the world is going to end, then with 3 or 4 days to go, there’s really nothing I can do about it.

If it’s a movie or news story, I can’t see how it’s been kept quiet in this day of social media.

Either way, I’m sure the day will come & go & we will forget about it eventually.

I dare not click over… if the world is about to end, I’d rather not know. Blissful ignorance, I say! But I hope it doesn’t- I’m on vacation this week- I’d like to enjoy my time off!

Im thinking happy thought for Monday and Tuesday lol. Hopefully I find that the perfect number of follies are growing and our IUI isn’t cancelled. So no end of the world thoughts here.

I don’t know anything about this. However, I completely agree about feeling unsettled. I have a situation going on in my life right now that has me feeling VERY unsettled and, at this point, there is nothing more I can do but wait. I do not like it. Not at all.

Hi from ICLW 🙂

I generally find that countdowns unsettle me no matter what they are counting down too….and agreed, this is creepy!!

OK. I’m dense and I didn’t spend a lot of time there, but I don’t get it.

Is it leading up to a movie premier or something?

How do we know that spectrogram is what it says it is?

I quickly went there, clicked a few places and left because it just feels lame, creepy and a bit too…preachy end of world church-y.

Happy ICLW! 😉

All I can say is, I don’t believe in prophecies, but I will check out the site after this comment anyhow – LOL

Happy ICLW!

Hmmm I haven’t heard if this. Seems like an album drop or movie trailer to me though. Or just fear-mongering

I think it’s a video game.

It kind of reminds me of the “leaked” email everyone got about Project Ginger, complete with quotes from Steve Jobs saying “project ginger” would be bigger than the PC. It turned out to be the Segway, which didn’t live up to the hype.

I briefly clicked over and had a look, but decided that, frankly, whatever it is, I don’t want to waste my time being concerned with it. I feel it must be a movie or game or something, but whatever it is, it is what it is and I just simply can’t be bothered. Why worry about things that aren’t necessary to worry about. There are plenty of legitimate things to worry about!

My guess is it’s a video game since they usually come out on Tuesdays. I really don’t think it’s anything more sinister than that.

On the video #73 it says something about tension in the districts… could it be about the Hunger games?
