For those of you that are test happy like me, I would highly recommend early-pregancy-tests.com for test strips. It is WAY cheaper than purchasing in the stores. I use them for OPK and HPT. Shipping is free with orders over $14.95 and I've never waited mre than 2 days for my tests to arrive. I would be broke if I indulged my need to pee on a stick with store brands. They also sell Pre-seed (one of the only TTC approved lubes) there for good prices.

i second what thalia has said, you should start BD'ing at least 4 days prior to ovulation. most docs suggest you have sex every day or every other day if poor sperm count is an issue.

it's pretty much recommended to have sex at least every 3 days outside of your fertile time. the key is to always have sperm at the ready.

There is one solution to the confusion, if you're prepared to pay. I've found the digital tests MUCH less stressful to use as they tell you the answer, no squinting required.

And a correction, on the having sex front you need to start having sex much earlier than this - most docs will say start preferably four or five days before ovulation - and for a couple of days afterwards. You want the sperm ready and waiting when the egg is released. In fact, the use of OPKs has been shown in several studies to REDUCE the pregnancy rate compared to women who just had sex with their partners on a fairy frequent basis. The hypothesis is that those using OPKs were lulled into a false sense of security and missed the opportunity.
