It's very important to increase the dose slowly. I thought I was increasing it slow enough by going up 500 mg a week until I got to 2000mg, but I was sick as a dog at 1000mg. I slowed down and took the 500mg for 2 months before introducing another 500mg. I'm now only at 1000mg (again) but I have none of the side effects. I plan to hang out here for at least a month before introducing another 500mg. Don't give up on this fantastic drug just because of the initial side effects! They do get better! I am still on Met, and just like you I really had a hard time adjusting to it. It was so difficult to adjust especially when I had to go to the toilet too often.
