My husband has a normal sperm count, but low motility/morphology. It is frustrating that he doesn't want to share the diagnosis with anyone and I have to tell people that our infertility is most likely due to the large fibroid recently found in my uterus.

We got our azoospermia diagnosis the summer of 2009. It was devastating.

The best advice I can offer is to find the best reproductive urologist you can, even if it means traveling for your treatment. Male reproductive science is still in its infancy, and you want to be working with a dr. who is on the forefront of that curve.

There are some good resources available online. Dr Paul Turek writes a blog at http://turekonmenshealth.com and the Cornell Urology department website has lots of great research at http://www.cornellurology.com/infertility/gi/understanding.shtml

Has anyone on here had the varicocele surgery? My husband is getting ready to undergo the procedure next week. He has a very low count, .4 million. I am wondering if it's going to be a waste of time for us if we're ultimately going to end up having to do IVF anyway.

My husband was also diagnosed with azoospermia. All of his tests keep coming back normal except for a slightly raised FSH but the Dr said its at a place where there are most likely sperm but just not many. This week or next week will be doing the testicular biopsy so we'll have a definitive answer. Hopefully they find something so we can do ICSI-IVF!! Check my blog for updates on our journey!

My husband was diagnosed with azoospermia and through the evaluation of his fine needle testicular biopsy, was given the secondary diagnosis of sperm maturation arrest. The gamete isn't maturing past the spermatid stage and is, therefore, unable to participate in fertilization. Thankfully, he has allowed an open communication with our family and friends about our situation which has made things MUCH easier than if he had chosen not to. We have now decided to move forward with embryo adoption as our infertility solution and would welcome any feedback/suggestions anyone has on the subject. I'm particularly curious about the natural protocol for frozen embryo transfer vs the HRT protocol so I don't have to be exposed unnecessarily to unnatural hormonal stimulation.

YES! That's me too. I'm not supposed to share his diagnosis. And then, when I don't, it's gotta be me. I get "Oh, I had a friend with (fill in the blank) and she did this or that, or adopted." My dad said, "huh, I wonder if it was something in the water where you grew up"? Huh? What?

I'm so open. It's so hard for me not to explain everything. But I do get his reasoning for not wanting to tell. I just get annoyed about being automatically blamed.

Has anyone had any experiece with a large number of White Blood Cells in the Semen analysis? My DH just finished a course of antibiotics and will get tested again this week. Dr found minimal bacterial growth but 48million wbc count is very large. He said we had to "chase these things around" sometimes? My DH had a reverse vascectomy 2.5 years ago, does this have anything to do with it?
