I am an "older" mom, I don't feel old, I don't look old but I am told that it's like dog-years when you are trying to have a baby, it seems being 44 makes me 100...

I am on my second cycle of clomid (100mg) I am day8 of my cycle and my OPK did turn yesterday. I read that it could turn while on clomid so I didn't panic. Last month went well but I missed my ovulation, I was scanned day 14 and what they found was a 30mm follicle that looked like it had already done it's job. This month I am going in on the 12th day of my cycle, because that is when my OPK turned last month.

I have a 24 year old daughter a 10 year old son and my youngest
daughter passed away at age 19 two years ago. I have always wanted a big family, a great big family.

My husband has had a vasectomy so we need to use a donor, and it seems that one of my ovaries jumped ship, it fell...very sad, my doctor tells me it isn't age related, maybe adhesions that pulled it down.

I have had no bad symptoms on clomid. I was afraid because I am a big mean PMS girl. I felt great while on it, my appetite increased but that could be anticipation. After my last dose I got "hot flashes" not horrible just a little warm at night under all the blankets then back to being cold again.

I won't take clomid for more than three months, my fingers are crossed this works this month. The doc tells me less than 3% chance but he is supportive andd helping me make this happen.

Good luck ladies, there is nothing more beautiful than loving a baby.

I was referred to this blogspot by one of my friends and I'm sure glad she did! This is a great support for all of us. I'm 29 yrs old and my husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 15 months. The first year I never got a period and never ovulated. Before my doc would prescribe Clomid, she had me do an HSG test. My test results came back just fine. So, my doc has presribed me Prevera (progesterone to get a period) and Clomid (to start on day 5 of bleeding). But my question is: Has anyone heard of getting pregnant after an HSG test? I've heard thru the grapevine that some "infertile" women were able to concieve shortly after that test.... Any words of advice will help me! Thx T.

I took 150mg of clomid for a couple of months, but it didn't work for me either. I had them do a saline sonogram to get a better idea of what was going on in there, since all of the other million tests they ran came back great. They found what may be a pollup or a fibroid, after another failed cycle, we are taking a couple months off so that they can do surgery to remove whatever is in there. I was feeling pretty hopeful, like finally I had an answer for why I was not getting pregnant, but when we met with the dr. she said that neither pollups or fibroids would keep me from getting pregnant, but it may keep the pregnancy from going to term, so I still don't have any answers. Oh, and these "growths" may be side effects of the hormones!
Ahhh!
Meanwhile EVERYONE around me is pregnant or has just had a baby!
Sorry for venting, but I find that after a year of dr. apts friends want to hear about it less and less.

I'm on my fourth and likely last month of clomid. I haven't see anyone else taking more than 50mg, but I'm taking 150mg. My dr. says that's the highest dose he can prescribe. I have had side effects like moodiness and the nightly hot flashes, but they are not any worse now than when I was taking just 50mg. I also have PCOS, but it's clear that clomid is not helping me ovulate. We're going to an infertility specialist next week. I really hope they can give some insight as to what's wrong.

Hang in there ladies.

Ugh - I am about to pop my 1st Clomid - am nervous but I suppose if it does the trick it doesn't matter. I will be 41 in June, have had 2 miscarriages and had an HSG about a month ago. I have pretty much been anti-fertility drugs so of course I am apprehensive about taking Clomid, especially now the first one. I'm sure it will all be fine.

I just finished my first round of clomid - 50mgs, given to help support my progesterone levels (I am 41 and ovulate on my own, but keep miscarrying). I did get pregnant on my first Clomid month, but unfortunately I miscarried at 5 weeks. I have just started cycle 2 of Clomid 50mgs, and I am hoping to get pregnant again this month. And stay pregnant ;-) As for side effects, I have had absolutely none so far. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. I was able to feel my ovulation happening for the first time ever, but it wasn't painful; I could just feel the eggs being released. Quite an interesting sensation. But yeah, no side effects at all for me.
